Cake from class II

Let me start by saying that last night I had dreams about cakes...kind of nightmares really. I had to keep frosting my cakes. Uhhhhh.....

So we really have homework to even get to the part where we decorate. You have to make and level and "torte" the cake first. Mine was a mess. I decided to do a chocolate cake and white frosting. Not smart. I warned my sister that it may not work for Nikki.  Every crumb that lifted as I frosted showed. I decided I would call this "the oreo cookie effect" Then I felt much better.

At class we had to pick a design, I chose the flower. There are so many "stars" on this cake that my hand is cramped. Really. But I like this and I think it turned out well enough for Nikki. So, here it is. I know far from perfect but I had so much fun. I just love this and the class is fun too!

WOW! I am impressed. That looks so professional.

Sorry I didn't make it last night.
I got the cake frosted and then ran out of time to make more frosting, dye it and collect everything together. Then I had to run Gabby down to the park and ride to meet Brent. Then I ran to school to set up for the Ice Cream Social. I was just exhausted.

My cake looks pretty sad... yellow cake with rasberry filling with white frosting. I can't for the life of me get the frosting smooth. I guess I need to practice, practice, practice!
I still have to decorate it. Don't ask me what I am going to do ...

Chat later!
